A. Proposed Rezoning Request for the Proposed Oak Park Development Project in the City of Muscatine

This public hearing concerns a proposed rezoning request for the proposed Oak Park Development Project in the City of Muscatine. The developer is requesting the rezoning of approximately 10 acres of real estate located at the corner of Blaine Street and Isett Avenue from Single-Family Residential to R-L Large Scale Residential Development. Prior to any formal action by City Council, a public hearing is required.

Now is the time for the public to comment.

B. Proposed Annexation Request from White Distribution and Supply

This public hearing concerns a proposed annexation request from White Distribution and Supply. A voluntary annexation request has been filed for a 4.18-acre parcel of land and 6.68 acres of adjoining right-of-way for a total of 10.86 acres in the 3900 block of Park Avenue West. White Distribution and Supply currently operates a business on the parcel that adjoins the proposed annexation and is acquiring the 4.18 acres to construct a new building and expand their operations. Because they need city services, they are requesting the annexation of the 4.18 acres as well as the 6.68 acres of adjoining right-of-way. Prior to any formal action by City Council, a public hearing is required.

A. Second Reading of an Ordinance to Amend Title 7, Chapter 9, Section 4 to Extend the Downtown Parking Zone

Presented for City Council’s consideration is the second reading of an ordinance amending Title 7, Chapter 9, Section 4 to extend the Downtown Parking Zone. As part of the Kum & Go construction project, the city has acquired 19 new parking spaces on Sycamore Street between 4th and 5th streets. The proposed amendment would change parking on Sycamore Street on both sides from Mississippi Drive to 4th Street to Mississippi Drive to 5th Street.

B. First Reading of an Ordinance Rezoning Real Estate in the City of Muscatine from R-3 Residential to R-L Large Scale Residential Development for the Proposed Oak Park Development Project

D. Request to Authorize the Audio Upgrades for the Council Chambers

Presented for City Council’s consideration is a request to approve audio upgrades for the Council Chambers. Staff is recommending approval of Option #3 in the amount of $2,581.81 for a microflex table mike that has the movable, programmable base and can be programmed to mute, on/off, or push to talk. The mike is industry standard and can be turned up louder before feedback.

It is recommended bills totaling $5,967,202.10, which includes receipt summaries and journal entries for June 2017, be approved and that the City Council authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to issue warrants for the same. It should be noted that this listing is subject to the approval of any related agenda item(s).
