  2. Public Hearing on Dawson Street Reconstruction Project

    This public hearing concerns the Dawson Street Reconstruction Project. This project will be funded with monies set aside from the Local Option Sales Tax funds for street reconstruction and upgrades. Prior to any formal action by City Council, a public hearing is required.

    • Resolution Approving Plans, Specifications, Form of Contract, Cost Estimate and Setting Bid Opening Date for Dawson Street Reconstruction Project

  3. Public Hearing on 2013 Asphalt Overlay Program

    This year’s overlay work will consist of Island Road, Island Court, McIntire Road, #2 alley between Cherry and Ash streets, parking area at Weed Park, and participation with the Iowa Department of Transportation on Washington Street from Park Avenue to the city limits. The estimated cost is $250,000 and will be funded with monies set aside from the Local Option Sales Tax funds for street reconstruction and upgrades. Prior to any formal action by City Council, a public hearing is required.

    • Resolution Approving Plans, Specifications, Form of Contract, Cost Estimate and Setting Bid Opening Date for 2013 Asphalt Overlay Program

  4. Resolution Setting Public Hearing on Plans, Specifications, Form of Contract, Cost Estimate for Water Pollution Control Lab Annex Project 

    This resolution is to set a public hearing on the plans, specifications, form of contract, cost estimate, and setting the bid opening date for the Water Pollution Control Lab Annex Project. Stanley Consultants has completed the plans and specifications for the construction of the lab annex. The preliminary estimated cost for the building, plumbing, and electrical is $550,000, lab equipment is estimated at $102,124, and engineering costs for the project design are estimated at $59,670. The total estimated project cost is $711,794. Prior to any formal action by City Council, a public hearing is required. This hearing will be held Thursday, July 18, 2013, at 7:00 p.m.

  5. Request to Approve Change Order #6 for the West Hill Sewer Separation Project – Phase I 

    The original contract with Langman Construction under Phase I of this project did not have the extra plumbing items required to separate storm water drainage from internal sanitary sewer discharge in the Carriage House Carpet Store and their sanitary piping and an external discharge to Alley #2. This change order, totaling $1,947, is for the required plumbing modifications to complete this work.

  6. Request to Close 100 block of E. 7th Street for Sewer Repairs 

    Boche Plumbing will be replacing sewer service at 101 E. 7th Street and is requesting closure of the 100 block of E. 7th Street while this work is performed. If the street closure is approved, work will begin either Friday, July 12, 2013, or Monday, July 13, 2013, with closure expected not to exceed three days.

  7. Request to Approve Purchase of Panasonic ToughPad Tablet Computers for Police Squad Cars 

    The Police Department is requesting authorization to purchase three Panasonic ToughPad Tablet computers along with mounting hardware from Keltek Inc. of Baxter, Iowa, in the amount of $11,121.66. There is $9,000 budgeted for this purchase. The remaining $2,121.66 will be funded by monies from the 2012 Justice Assistance Grant.
