Projects Recently Completed

Kent Stein to Deep Lakes Park Trail
The project was awarded to Illowa Investment, Inc., of Blue Grass, IA, on Thursday, April 13, 2017 in the amount of  $1,198,197.30. The completed trail was accepted by the Muscatine City Council on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at a final cost of $1,196.026.41. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the 41st Street entrance to Deep Lakes Park on Friday, October 20, 2017, with councilman Bob Bynam cutting the ribbon to officially open the trail.

2017 Asphalt Overlay Project
Illiowa Investments, Inc., was awarded the $519,250.10 contracton July 20, 2017. The Asphalt Overlay Project is part of the Pavement Management program for the City of Muscatine and is funded through the Road Use Tax Fund and the Local Option Sales Tax Fund. There are a total of 140 miles of streets throughout Muscatine that the Public Works Department is in charge of in addition to the alleys and parking lots. Approximately $2.86 million has been spent on Pavement Management in the last six years which includes curb and gutter replacement, full depth patch, crack sealing, and resurfacing.
 

Diana Queen Drive Extension
Awarded to Heuer Construction, Inc. was completed in the amount of $295,272.69.  City Council accepted the completed project on January 7, 2016.

2015 Sidewalk Program
Awarded to All American Concrete, Inc. in the amount of $146,267.00.  The project had no change orders and was completed in the amount of $146,267.00.  City Council accepted the completed project on October 15, 2015.

Colorado Street Reconstruction Project
Awarded to Heuer Construction, Inc. on October 3, 2013.  This project was completed and approved by City Council on September 3, 2015.  Total project cost was $3,032,158.59.  

Geneva Creek Channel Shaping Project
Awarded to Sulzberger Excavating, Inc. on October 16, 2014 in the amount of $48,963.00.  The project had three change orders.  City Council accepted the completed project on May 7, 2015.  Total project cost was $53,780.38. 

Forest Parkway Reconstruction Project
Awarded to Heuer Construction of Muscatine on September 18, 2014 in the amount of $163,526.34.  City Council accepted the completed project on December 18, 2014 with a total project cost of $177,636.85.
